About
At the heart of Paradis du Vélo is a 200 year old Bugey farmhouse that Olly restored during lockdown. A labour of love, balancing original character with modern comfort. Living here, riding these roads, and being part of the local village life is what shaped PDV into what it is today.
Paradis du Vélo is a boutique cycling retreat for riders who value authentic French Alpine roads, beautiful climbs, relaxed camaraderie, and the slower rhythm of life in the Bugey. With space for just six guests, the PDV Ride Experience Week combines socially led riding, thoughtful routes, locally sourced meals, and time to properly recharge—based at the foothills of the iconic Grand Colombier. Each week follows the same philosophy and structure—what changes is the focus.
Where your Alpine Riding begins
Boutique Cycling Retreat at the Foot of the Grand Colombier. Where the French Alps meet authenticity, comfort, and world-class riding. At the foothills of the legendary Grand Colombier, in the tranquil village of Saint-Martin-de-Bavel, lies Paradis du Vélo a boutique cycling retreat built for those who chase both challenge and charm.
From our doorstep, the roads roll through the heart of the Bugey region, with Geneva and the medieval elegance of Annecy to the east, and Lac du Bourget the Riviera of the Alps shimmering to the south.
Here, every ride tells a story: from peaceful lakeside coffee spins to iconic Tour de France climbs that test the legs and fill the soul. Quiet tarmac, breathtaking scenery, and authentic French hospitality define the experience.
